BELIEFS AND MISSION
Helping People Become...
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe there is one eternal God, the Creator of heaven and earth and all living things. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father, our Creator; as the Son, our Savior; and as the Holy Ghost dwelling within us. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh, fully God and fully man. God is holy, loving, merciful, all-powerful, all-knowing, and unchanging. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 13:8
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority for salvation, doctrine, and Christian living. It is the foundation of our faith and the guide for how we know God, follow His truth, and live according to His will.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, called to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. The Church is not simply a building to walk into, but a family to belong to. It is Spirit-filled, Bible-based community united through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe the Church is made up of people from every race, culture, and background, brought together by the love and truth of God. As His body, we are called to follow the teachings of Jesus, encourage one another, and shine His light and hope so that all people may come to know Him in a personal way.
John 17:11; John 17:20-23; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 2:19-22; Ephesians 4:15-16; Hebrews 10:24-25.
We believe everyone has sinned and is in need of salvation. Jesus Christ came to reconcile us back to Himself. He lived without sin, willingly died on the cross for our sins, and rose again so that we could have new life in Him. Salvation is made possible by grace through faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and is found in Him alone.
Scripture references: Romans 3:23-25; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12.
We believe repentance is a sincere turning away from sin and turning toward God. It is more than feeling sorry — it is a commitment to surrender every area of our lives to Jesus Christ and follow Him. Through repentance, we confess our sins, receive God’s forgiveness, and begin walking in newness of life.
Proverbs 28:13; Mark 1:15; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; 1 John 1:9; 2 Peter 3:9.
We believe water baptism is an act of obedience and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Through baptism, we call on His name and identify with His death, burial, and resurrection. We are baptized by full immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, burying the old nature and rising to walk in newness of life.
Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14
We believe the Holy Spirit is active in the world today and is promised to all who believe in Him. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God that empowers us to live for Him, be witnesses of the gospel, and walk in newness of life. As demonstrated in the New Testament Church, the initial evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. Through His indwelling presence, the Holy Spirit guides us into truth, comforts us, convicts us, and produces godly fruit in our lives. We also believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit, through which God ministers to His church by His power and for His purpose.
Mark 16:15-18; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38-39; John 16:7-13; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 1 Corinthians 12:1-11; 2 Corinthians 3:17; Galatians 5:22-25; Ephesians 1:13
